COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

As I said about a week ago or so, this area usually gets it first frost around the 15th of October.  We are off by a few days, but close enough.  I picked what few green tomatoes I could find an one small green pepper.  They looked tortured and sad.  Tonight is supposed to be a frost with the temperature going down to about 32 degrees.

Last night I slept well, but I must have slept with my big mouth hanging open.  I woke up with a sore throat and blocked sinuses.  Most of the discomfort is gone now except for a slightly sore throat and that is probably on it's way out, too.

I must try harder with my diet as my weight goes up and down slightly and seems "stuck."  I have lost about 12 lbs but would still like to lose about 10 more lbs.  That is my present goal for now.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
INSTEAD OF YOUR CROSSES
COUNT YOUR GAINS
INSTEAD OF YOUR LOSSES

COUNT YOUR JOYS
INSTEAD OF YOUR WOES
COUNT YOUR FRIENDS
INSTEAD OF YOUR FOES

COUNT YOUR SMILES
INSTEAD OF YOUR TEARS
COUNT YOUR COURAGE
INSTEAD OF YOUR FEARS

COUNT YOUR FULL YEARS
INSTEAD OF THE YOUR LEAN
COUNT YOUR KIND DEEDS
INSTEAD OF YOUR MEAN

COUNT YOUR HEALTH
INSTEAD OF YOUR WEALTH
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR
INSTEAD OF YOURSELF.

by Kelly Johnston.

"Thou wentest forth for the salvation of they people,
for salvation with thy Christ."'
Habacuc 3: 13

Here is an early reference to Christ in this prophecy, before the destruction of Jerusalem, the punishment of Judea and the captivity of the Jews and the fall of their oppressor, the Babylonian empire.  The foretelling of Christ is prophesied many times in the Old Testament.

Tomorrow-Saturday-I need to get a few things done before Sunday.  I have been lazy most of the week; putting things off.  I need to alter a new blouse slightly so I can wear it on Sunday.  I am either too short or the blouse is too long.  Also, I would like to get the mower out and mow/bag more leaves.  I got the bread maker out, but that may have to wait.  As you can see I forgot to go back to regular type.  That's OK; it will be easier for some to read.

Good morning Mabel,

I love the poem and what a timely reminder that we have much more to be grateful for than what we have had go wrong in our lives. Keeping positive is sometimes hard to do but it is the best thing to do.

Today I will do a little more packing at my neighbor's house, then have to install a doorbell here and run a load or two of laundry. Jean's brother is driving down from Lincoln, Nebraska and we are to go out to dinner later. He could not make it to the funeral so wants to go to the cemetary as well. Its going to be a long day.

Hope you are well.
Blessings, Alice
