Heat, storms, droughts and rain

Everyone I know in the Ohio River Valley has been fried, toasted and crisped on both sides.  We need rain so badly, Lord, but not like the devastating storms that have hit the East Coast or the high winds that blew through the upper regions of In, Ky, Virginia and on into parts of NY and NJ.  Nope, just a nice steady rain, Lord...send it our way and we will be ever grateful.

I too, am hand watering my plants of which I don't have many, but I don't want to lose them.  I can't keep the bird bath full as it has become a popular spa for the feathered friends that inhabit the sky, trees and airways.  They also get moisture from the plums that have fallen from the tree.  I hope that I don't see the birds falling from the trees, too, due the heat wave.

I have been fairly busy all day long.  I have re-hung a lot of pictures that have been waiting silently to find thier spots on the walls.  They have been waiting, gathering dust and cob-webs, as I am doing, too.  It is way past time for them to be re-hung, and just as I suspected, it was not a fun job to do with one arm that can't reach well.  It is done and I am glad that a lot of things are now up off  the floor and/or out of boxes.  I am making progress in spite of myself, but have a ways to go.  It sure helps to de-clutter!

Yesterday I did go out for noon mass and then to Hardy's.  I came right back as fast as that van would travel and parked myself in front of the A/C.  I must be very devoted or very stupid.  I think stupid is the key word here...to be out in the heat that hit 107 yesterday.  Today was 106.

I did get to the store early this morning, beating the climbing mercury.  Everyone else had the same great inspiration as the store clerk said she didn't have time to do much other than run the register.

When I get up for church tomorrow morning it is the prelude to another day of temps over 100 degrees.  I know that when I come out of church my van will be a hot box...a prelude to you know where!!

By staying in most of the week I don't have a lot to write about.  However, by being in I stay out of trouble, too.  And that's a good thing!  One good result of having to stay in out of the heat is that you can get a lot of things done that you (me) have been putting off doing or placing on the back burner.  On Monday, I hope to get even more done.  Sunday...not so much.

Just because

Oh, was it hot today.  104 here and higher in other places.  It is supposed to hit 107 tomorrow-Friday.  We will see.

While I did not really intend to post tonight I want to expalin why I did not post the picture of the bookcase.  Blame it on Kodak.  I guess they went belly up a while back and I was not able to down load my pictures into the the computer.  There is probably a way around this and I will look for it.

I did not go to mass this lunch time due to the heat, but I think I will go tomorrow no matter what.  After all, I will be getting out of an a/c van and walking into an a/c church so it shouldn't be all that bad.

I think when the drought breaks it will be the result of some severe weather.  But..not this week.

There isn't much going on.  The heat is keeping everyone in, even the bad boys.  I have kept most of the lights off and the blinds closed and the a/c running so I am fairly comfortable until I step out the door.  I neglected to go back out this eve. and give the plants more water.  I gave them a double dip at lunch time.

The birds of the air are really enjoying the bird bath, so much so that I have started taking reservations for the birdy spa.  Of course, the bully birds are first on the reservation list and then come the little ones, such as the Gold Finches and little Sparrows.

And that is all I will write tonight.

WHATEVER YOU DO, WORK AT IT WITH YOUR WHOLE BEING.  DO IT FOR THE LORD RATHER THAN FOR MAN, SINCE YOU KNOW FULL WELL THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE AN INHERITANCE FROM HIM AS YOUR REWARD.  BE SLAVES OF CHRIST THE LORD.

To hot to trot

I know that I should have re-charged the batteries on the camera, but I didn't get it done as there were other things that I needed to do today. I did want to post a picture of the "bookcase" as it is "finished" and loaded with odds and ends.
I may go ahead and do that tomorrow and post it as I will be obviously staying in out of the heat.  It is predicted to be 103 degrees.
I went to 12: 05 mass today, but don't think I will be going tomorrow or Friday.  I will stay in and only go out the door as needed.  I went to the store and got milk, eggs, bread and lunch meat today while it was still "cool" in the 90's.  It isn't that I don't want to go to mass, but high heat and high b/p are like oil and water: they don't mix well.

I gave my tomato plants a double dose of H2O this evening and I may get brave and give them a drink early.  I got my hair cut today, too.  Now I won't have hair plastered to my skull and will wear a light weight crown of silver threads.

The birds are having a good time in the bird bath.  They make such a mess of it, 'though.  We are into our second month of drought and everything is so dry and brittle; it is like, and sounds as if you are walking on glass instead of grass.

I finished another novel this evening.  I am losing count.  I do like to read, esp, in the summer when TVis so void of good programing

Very little to mention unless I tell you that gas has dropped to $3.13 per gal. and I even saw another place that had it for $3.12.  Now that gas is cheaper...it's too hot to go anywhere!

Little Donkeys and young colts

"I'm working at it."  In other words I am doing this post In parts and pieces, as I do other  things.  I just came in from mowing the front yard.  Before I did that I had to go get gas for the mower and was happy that gas was $3.16 per gal.  When I got home I set the lawn mower up to three inches as everything is so dry: I  didn't want to scalp  the yard.   It was only 88 degrees today so I got some outside work done.  Tomorrow it is supposed to be ...97 degrees.  I don't do that kind of intensive work on a Sunday, however if my donkey fell into a ditch I might brave the heat and try to rescue my donkey.  What, you say!  You didn't know I had a donkey?  Yup, we ALL have donkeys.  Read about your donkey in
the gospels as there are a number of referances to them.

This IS later 'gator.  The temperature made it up to  92 degrees late this afternoon and is now slaking off to 84 as eve. sneaks in behind the setting sun.  Feels better, for now!  But just wait...tomorrow we get a foretaste of HE double LL, if it hits the 97 mark.

I had a very big steak for supper; as big as my large plate.  Yes, I ate it all.  Working outside gives a person a hearty appetite.  I was craving the high protein.

There isn't anything on TV so I have been reading a lot. I guess I have read about five novels thus far.  I can get lost in a good book. The following comes from a "good book," too.

FEAR NOT,
DAUGHTER OF SION;
BEHOLD ,
THY KING COMES,
SITTING ON THE
COLT OF AN ASS.

John 12: 15

Now, that sounds like fun.  Imagine trying to sit on the young offspring of an ass-donkey. That would be the "colt."  Only Jesus would or could make a young ass behave. Think about making YOUR own offspring behave or do what you think is best! Why Jesus chose a young colt-ass, to carry him through the streets of Jerusalem is another mystery, but an interesting one because He could have chosen almost any other type of transportation of His time and culture.  I am sure there are all kinds of theories written, mulled over and argued about, but my little mind thinks He chose a humble, yet unforgettable way to make an entrance into Jerusalem.  What do think?  Got an opinion?  Oh, sure you do.  EVERYBODY has an opinion!

Follow...follow JC along His Yellow Brick Road

We are toasted!!
Oh Yes!  It's hot...its hot a lot.  I know I saw a fish worm crawling along with a suitcase... looking for a cooler climate.  Actually a bird dropped a real fish worm or night crawler right beside the bird bath and it has since dehydrated.  I can't keep enough water in the bird bath or enough water on the tomato plants.  More burn bans have been announce in the area and in the counties near by.

I almost have my book case "done."  Yes, it has taken me a long time.  It is hard to do with one bad arm that doesn't want to bend or stretch or do what I tell it to do.  So I have been doing a little at a time.  One shelf here,  a little bit there, and a tiny bit in between.  The last part is above my head and that will be the more tricky part as my arm does not and I guess it never will, reach, stretch or bend the way it did three years ago.  I do persist, 'though, and am almost finished.  It may not be a good job and has a lot of flaws and errors, but it will just have to be.

I did mention that I moved the refrigerator last week in order to clean behind it and that putting it back was an endeavor of desperation because it stuck out in the middle of the kitchen.  Getting it back did play havoc on my arm and it is still pretty stiff.  So, whenever I feel sorry for my predicament or have the tendency to complain, I think of all the boys coming back from Afghanistan or Pakistan without arms or legs or various wounds.  Makes me count my blessings.

I see one tiny tomato on the vine and some blossoms.  I may get tomatoes before Christmas.  I don't know what the peppers are gonna do; they look a little stressed.  We need rain

There isn't much going on that is interesting.  I stay in near the A/C as much as I can, but I really need to mow the yard.
While the grass isn't growing...the weeds are.  I see a little tree right in the middle of my neighbor's yard.  They haven't mowed, either.

The fruit of the spirit is joy-and a little comedy is good, too.

Sometimes life is a comedy.  I was sitting on the back porch/patio enjoying  the quietness of the day and all of a sudden a ruckus broke out and I wound up laughing myself silly.  A bad, bushy tailed squirrel got into trouble with a catbird.  The catbird chased the little varmint across the yard and up the plum tree where it clung for dear life.  Catbird flew into the plum tree and found a watchful perch.  The  squirrel, thinking it was safe, came out of the plum tree and started across the yard.  Ha! says the Catbird!  That bird chased the squirrel across the yard and up into the pear tree.  Both were trying to outwit and out wait the other.  I suspect the squirrel was trying to raid a nest and got caught.  However, it made my day.  Sometimes nature can be violent and unpredictable, but sometimes the workings of the world are wondrous, if not entertaining.

The past few days have been hot and humid with today's temperature zipping up to 94, a little warm around the edges.  I am watering my plants every evening due to this local drought.  We are supposed to get rain tomorrow, but they keep saying that.

Tonight I put eggshells, coffee grounds and tea leaves, mixed with a small amount of Epsom's Salts around some of the plants.  I have one small tomato so far.  Something has pulled two pepper plants up  and just left them to die in the heat.  I suspect that it was that bad squirrel, but I'm not sure.  I think that I will pulverize an onion and make a juice to pour around the plants.

Even though I didn't need gas I topped off the gas tank this afternoon while it was $3.34 a gallon.  It won't stay that way for long, but at least I won't need to get gas for a little bit.

I went back to the store looking for more canned peaches that were on sale for $1.00 per 29 oz. can, but they were all cleaned out.  I didn't get much else other than two packages of lunch meat and some turkey bacon.  I did get some candy for the residents at the nursing home that I will take over tomorrow.  So even though I have cut back on my posting there just isn't a lot going on.

I had moved the refrigerator out a week ago or so and couldn't move it back into place.  I finally got it back into place last night, but I thought I was gonna pop all the pins, plates, and screws in my arm.  They must be in place pretty good. but I can't say that my arm doesn't hurt today.  I got to stop doing that kind of stuff!

DECISIONS TO MAKE

A big backyard to mow
No big garden this year

Decisions...Decisions.  Here is what I have decided.  I will start posting two days per week starting with tonight.  I have things to do, places to go, puddles to jump in and maybe even a few bridges to burn behind me...well, perhaps I won't ignite and bridges.  It is summer and it is a busy time for everyone and I have less to write about.  I have picked Wednesday and Saturday as blogging days.  Surely something will occur to me in between and betwixt those two days.

You have no idea how hard it is to come up with something to post every night.  I think I need to"give it a rest" for the summer and then see from there.  Readership has dipped as well, so the rest of the world is trying to "make hay while the sun shines," too.  I will add this, however.  I was more than amazed to see a reader from China.  I have never, ever had a visit from China.  The strange thing was that the China visitor soon disappeared from the stats.  Figure that one out.

So...look for me on Wednesday and Saturday evenings for a while while I decide what the future of this blog will be.  OK?

GOODNESS

This afternoon I put white paper plates that I slit to the middle and made a small opening in the center...to arrange around my tomato and pepper plant...to discourage weed growth.  Hence, a problem.  The dirty birds(grackles).  The birds thought they were playthings put out just for them to mess with.  They even pulled up one pepper plant and disturbed the rest of the paper plates.  I did go out and "rearrange" the paper plates this evening.  The bird bath is for the birds of ill repute, but the tomato patch is for me.  Stay out of my domain, birdies!

I don't know where the day went, but it is gone and can't be found.  I looked for it, but lost my day map.  Which means that I started another novel.  Once I get into a "read mode" it is hard to turn off the desire to read "just one more page."  I haven't even watched TV...not that there is anything worth
indulging in.  Even the commercials are stupid and tacky.

In the past few weeks or so there has been three deaths in the family and the extended family unit.  They say that everything comes in threes, so I hope that it is finished for some time to come.  Some of the losses were expected...some not.  Rest in Peace, you that have gone before those of us that remain.  Rest in Peace.

I have been also reading bits and snatches of the concept of the "culture of prayer."  Once there was a time when the family, the villages and cities centered around the church.  That has all changed and not for the betterment of God's people.  There have always been abuses in the churches, even as far back as Peter as he exhorts the the followers of Christ to be true and faithful.  And then again, there have been many, many great leaders, both men and women, steering the church to sanctification.  The heart of any church or institution is in the spirit of the those that walk and speak in the way of the Lord.  Call it trickle down..or up... goodness, if you will, or the spiritual lifting of the people of Christ.  Name it as you will, but be illuminated by what has been gifted to us and is the legacy of light that we are to carry forth.

There has always been assaults upon the church, churches, and the teachings of Jesus.  It may seem worse at this time because of all the news and media coverage of every infringement against all churches and people of God.  Yes, war has been declared against Christ and anyone believes and follows His footsteps.  You better get your "big guns" out and have plenty of ammunition(knowledge and faith) and be willing to fight for your beliefs.  Remember the slogan that "knowledge is power?"  Prayer is more powerful.

Duh, duh, and duh

I never feel like posting on a Monday.  No, it isn't Monday blues, its just Monday, NoNews.  Well, it did rain today...and that is good news.  And it is cooler; that is better news.  And I have read two novels in two days.  I did get the dishes washed, made a good chicken salad and mopped the kitchen floor...like how exciting is that...duh.  I guess that tomorrow I will have another exciting day and do a little 52 pick up or vacuuming.  It never gets dull around here, does it.

I know that I probably should put the books aside and tear into a few things that need to be done, but there is always something that needs to be done...and that's no fun.  And here is another thing:  I want something good to eat.  I don't know what, but if you think of anything yummy just send it to me by overnight express.  Aw, well I tried. I guess I will have to make my own yummy stuff.

LIGHT FROM ABOVE

It was a little on the warm side today, but not unpleasant.  I did mow the back yard this afternoon in the heat.  The grass has slowed its growth because of the lack of rain, but the weeds continue to shoot up where they are not welcome.  I only did the backyard as I ran out of gas.  The front is not cut yet.  I am still putting water on the plants, but trying to harden them off a little.  Also, the open burn ban is
reinstated because of the field fires.  Everything is so dry.

This a short post as I "shot my wad" last night.  My brain needs a little rest and recharging...a lot of recharging, and I think I will go to bed "early," too.  This is it.

THE THREE ME'S

Sometimes I just don't know what to write about.  It seems like each day is just like yesterday or the day before.  I know it isn't so, and each day there is change, sometimes so subtle that any differences are barely or not at all noticeable.  The sun rises and sets each day in slightly altered positions and that is the way of life as well.  Each day is just a little or perhaps a lot...different or unusual than the day or evening or years bygone that are filed under "memory."

Time is irrelevant as a minute can be like a thousand years or a thousand years can be consumed in just a twinkling.  We are on God's time.  Yesterday is today and today is tomorrow and it doesn't really matter as infinity is.  It just is.  It is God's time and not our own, so live for He who has made us.  We will pass into dust.  "Time" will fade into nothingness, but God was, is, and always will be.

This day I did a small amt. of shopping for just a few necessities dictated by convention and the norms of society.  I bought garbage bags.  In this culture of The Americas, we can't have our trash, crud and garbage sailing on the wind and collecting in someones yard. Of course, not everyone abides by what is expected in a civilized, homogeneous, diverse species of upright, bipedal humanoids.  Everyone has his free will or spirit and lives accordingly.  Me too.

The human soul or spirit or inner id lives and exists deep within us, yet outside of space or time,  still..in our real, but human reality. And like the Holy Trinity, I think of ourselves as a trinity, but on a lesser level than God.  Strange to say, you may think, yes?  Who can understand the ways and mysteries of the Creator.

Think of yourself as three persons in one, if you can.  There is the "you," the person that I or we...can see, smell, touch, feel, converse with, and conceive as a physical person.  This  is the "you" that is presented  for all the see, relate to and be responded to, in kind: the persona of the "me," the exterior that we all know and love...maybe.  The part of us that we want others to accept and know.

In a sense, this is the false self and under this false self is a layer or second me, that we do not want to share, to see or be seen, but occasionally the "sneaky me" escapes into the glare of the an ugly  cast light.  It is the self that is not all that pretty or enduring and we tend to cover it up whenever we can.

Then there is the inner me, id or the God given spirit.  We don't always see this third person as this is the essence of "Whom" and is a most frequently hidden, an unknown, untapped, mysterious person; the spirit or soul.  Think of the spirit as a third "you" that is deep within and waiting to become all of "you" with consent of the other two of "you."  As with the Holy Trinity, but lesser, there are we, three in one.  "We' of the lesser trinity are  wondrously and glorious fashioned, forged, ready to be molded into the instrument of God, for we are made in His image.

This may be difficult to fathom...as it is what I think and feel.  If you were to sit across a table from me and ask me to verbalize what I have written, I just couldn't do it.  An orator, I am not.  It is a concept in my head and heart that I have put words to, but may not makes sense to anyone that reads this.  I hope I don't come off sounding like a heretic  writing of unsound theology or philosophy for I don't intend to.  I am open to corrections.

EYES TO SEE WITH, A HEART TO FEEL WITH

I've been out for a good part of the day.  We had lunch at the Canton Inn and it was good.  Yes, I am still watching my diet.  Everything in moderation.  The problem is I like everything and everything likes...my waistline.

After lunch we went to look at my friends son's house.  It is empty as he is planning on going to the missions in Haiti.  Its much more spacious than my little hovel and has closets, storage areas, a utility room and a nice, big kitchen.    It also has a basement and a garage in the back.  I wouldn't mind renting it myself and renting this little house out for income.

I watered the plants before I left this morning and again after I got home this evening.  Tomorrow will be busy in an odd way.  It will be an interrupted kind of schedule, where it is hard to get things started or finished, as I will be in and out in the middle of the day.  Still, I think I can get few things squared away in between.

I finally got milk!  I got two quarts.  One qt. is in the freezer-the one that is still working, and the other qt. is in the fridge for immediate use.  I guess I am still a "milk baby."  I need milk.

I share or my life with everyone...or those that are interested.  Typically, I lead a quiet life without much in the way of excitement.  A little excitement would probably cause my hair to fall out or my B/P to shoot up or my heart to go flip flop.  Can't have any of that, can we?!!

VERILY THOU ART
A HIDDEN GOD
THE GOD OF ISRAEL,
THE SAVIOR.

Isaiah 45:15

This verse is from the Liturgy of the Day for Friday morning.  Of course, there is a little more to the verse.  I really don't think God is hidden.  You see Him or His works everywhere: in the trees, flowers, the winged, walking or crawling creations of this world, even in the earthworm that was crawling on the hot sidewalk this afternoon.  A bird dropped it as flew overhead.  Everything supports all of God's design, from the tiniest microorganisms to the largest of all His creatures and of His handiwork.  Perhaps I see better as I get older, but to me God  can not be hidden, anymore than you could hide the rising or the setting of the sun.  See with your heart as well as your eyes...and there He is.

Not very much going on in the neighborhood, so to speak.  Other that having another gorgeous day...what can I say.

Gasoline has dropped down to $3.26...right after I filled the tank at $3.43.  Just my luck!

Tomorrow I will be out for lunch and then I need to do some grocery shopping.  I haven't had milk for two days.  Tonight I did mix up some powdered milk to have in the morning, but it just isn't as good as "real" milk.

I am watering the tomato plants twice a day.  The soil is dry and the wind makes it dryer.  I don't know how the plants will do this year.  The best thing that I did was to plant them close to the back door where they are easy to reach and water.  I have six tomato plants in the ground and if they take off and produce, that will be more than enough for me.

The plums are ripening fast and falling off the tree in the wind.  The pears are turning red, but are not very big.  Both trees are overloaded and so is the grapevine.

I did have to go out to the bank this afternoon.  I put it off because all the "checks" were out and everyone is/was out shopping for the last few days.  I hate fighting crowds.

So...that was the gist of my day.  It wasn't even a mundane day, but it certainly was a nice day to sit out and just be lazy.

A FINE DAY

What a glorious day this has been!  The temperature was in the lower 80's and there was a pleasant breeze wafting all day long.  The breeze helps keep the mosquitoes  at bay and the humidity was down a bit, too.  I got outside and got my tomatoes in the ground...a bit late, but done.  Tomorrow I hope to get the sweet peppers in.  You may think that I have been lazy, but I found the ground hard and unworkable.  After several good soakings and some rain, along with a little determination, I finally got some soil worked up.  Not well, but making progress.

All that nasty stuff from the freezer will be picked up Thursday morning.  I dragged the big bag out to the fence this afternoon so that all I need to do tomorrow eve. is to open the gate and push/pull it through.  I hope the pick-up men enjoy that smelly stuff as much as I have!

Tomorrow's agenda is really not decided yet.  I guess I will take it as it comes and do whatever needs to be done according to my whims and or ambition.  I am long on whims and short on ambition!

Of course, I wasted time watching the birds come and go from the bird bath.  Since I cleaned it out well, it has become a social center for various species of flying acrobats.  I do believe one fat Robin is training for the Aviary Olympics.  At lest that feathered athlete was willing to share with the smaller contenders of water sports.  What was funny to see was that chubby Robin sit right on the water spout and cut it off and then get off the spout and catch water to drink as if he were at the public fountain.  It doesn't take much to make me happy and give me simple pleasure, does it!!

Yes, I have lifted a verse out of context again, so it would be best to go and read the whole of Chapter 34.  I like it because it speaks of of all the people coming out to hear Christ teach in the temple, in the early morning, in verse 38.  It seems to say to me that all the people come out in the newness of the day, when everything is fresh and the earth and hearts of mankind are most receptive.  How these verses touch you...are as individual as the dew drops or the slivers of gold  emitting from the raising sun in the morning.  There is an undeniable joy in each new day as the darkness fades and the advancing light.. dresses all of God's creation.

SOARING HIGH

It's Monday again.  How does that happen?  I think I'm going to tear up the calender and toss it into the trash.

It is hot and humid again.  Just the other day the temperatures were down in the 40's overnight and only in the 60's during the day.  I'm confused and not because of early dementia either.

I went out to do a little yard work, but didn't do a lot.  I did clean out the bird bath.  Those dirty birds made a dirty mess.
Sill, I enjoy watching them in the morning as I drink my coffee and look out the back door.

Watching God's creatures is like a prayer in itself.  It is a singular meditation as the greatness of creation fills the morning dawn.  You need no words: just absorb the beauty of the world.  Man can create almost anything, but he can not paint a world, find the very smallest "God Particle" or produce a single soul.

Very seldom can I think of much to write about on a Monday, esp. if I have not been out and about.  I expect the week will start to roll its way along, starting tomorrow.  I will need to go out for and do couple of things as the next few days pass, but I am in no hurry.

There are so many different countries that visit this blog that I can't keep up with them all or list them all, either.  I really don't see what they look for or find in this poor excuse of a blog, but I keep writing it for the sake of the ones that keep coming back.  I do appreciate all the visits and hits.  I wish I could know each and everyone that comes to call.  May blessing be on one and all.

FOR EVERY CREATURES
OF GOD IS GOOD,
AND NOTHING
IS TO BE REJECTED
THAT IS ACCEPTED
WITH THANKSGIVING.
FOR IT IS SANCTIFIED
BY THE WORD
OF GOD AND PRAYER.

Timothy 4: 4

Way back in one of these postings I mentioned that anyone can give a blessing.  It is the sanctification and consecration of all God's creatures...and that includes us.  We can curse the darkness...or bless and give thanks for the LIGHT and that we were are able and should  freely bless all.

911 Facebook

FACEBOOK:  If your on Facebook you are now under surveillance 24-7.  Oh, you didn't know that?  You didn't figure that out yet?  Well, you are.  I am.  I don't like it.

Everything you now read of every site you visit is now under scrutiny.  Yup, you have probably made it to the A list, me included.

Your a victim.  Your privacy has been invaded and you probably have been analyzed, categorized scrutinized every which way to Sunday.  I don't like it

I don't go to porn or unsavory sites so I advise one and all not to visit such web sites either.  Be aware that Uncle Sam is aware of you and everything you do and say.

I think that everyone should scream like mad over this insidious erosion of the constitutional right of privacy, speech and religion.  Oh, you think not?  Do your homework.  Possibly you can't as We have been dumbed downed for the last 30 years or more.

I hate it that when I read a simple article of interest or news...and everyone on Facebook knows about it.  Get out of my life INVASIVE Government and stay out.

That was my rant for the day and it made me feel better.

BUT TO EACH
ONE OF US
GRACE WAS
GIVEN
ACCORDING
TO THE MEASURE
OF CHRIST'S
BESTOWAL.

Ephesians 4: 7

Taken out of context the above verse could be read to apply to many and various life modes, and is.  However, if you read on you will easily see that it is about the many graces and gifts that are given to man, and to the Apostles, by the Father.  It is nice to have all the talents, skills, graces and gifts that are freely given by God, but above all is the ability to LOVE ONE ANOTHER as we were and are prescribe to do.  I have taken care of those that don't have a clue to what graces or gifts are as they have been born with diminished mental acuity, but God have them something else:  They love and accept love without question.  If you are reading this...you should be so blessed to have such a special gift for I think that THEY are the chosen ones.

Stinky, very stinky

What a stinky day!  The freezer died.  The contents died twice.  I bagged the ruined food and dragged it out into the yard, but not before the bag tore and it all had to be bagged again.  The entire house smells like...gag...rotten sewer sludge.  I have bee spraying Fabreeze all over the place, opened windows, doors and had the fans all blowing.  All I can say is "yuk, yuk, yuk" because it is still odoriferous within.

As you can tell the best laid plans for the day went astray.  I still have more cleaning to do and need to figure out how to get rid of that poor little freezer.  Have dolly, will travel out the door, I hope.

So there isn't all that much to add to this post as the day just didn't go my way.  Sometimes we have days like that and have to accept it along with the loss of a lot of food.  So be it. While I lost a lot of food I keep in mind that there are those that have NO food.

Proverbs 3: 5-6

I like Proverbs; I always did.  All that wisdom neatly tied up and available to the reader of the Bible.  The problem that I do find with Proverbs is that it is easy to read, but hard to practice.  Well, no one ever said that living a good life and following the Bible would be easy.  If I could just have one percent of that wisdom stamped within me...I might be a far better person.  I wonder why God made my heart and soul so porous.  I can "soak it up" like the rain only to have it run right out again.  I guess I don't make good sponge, but I would like to.  I keep trying.
