A FINE DAY

What a glorious day this has been!  The temperature was in the lower 80's and there was a pleasant breeze wafting all day long.  The breeze helps keep the mosquitoes  at bay and the humidity was down a bit, too.  I got outside and got my tomatoes in the ground...a bit late, but done.  Tomorrow I hope to get the sweet peppers in.  You may think that I have been lazy, but I found the ground hard and unworkable.  After several good soakings and some rain, along with a little determination, I finally got some soil worked up.  Not well, but making progress.

All that nasty stuff from the freezer will be picked up Thursday morning.  I dragged the big bag out to the fence this afternoon so that all I need to do tomorrow eve. is to open the gate and push/pull it through.  I hope the pick-up men enjoy that smelly stuff as much as I have!

Tomorrow's agenda is really not decided yet.  I guess I will take it as it comes and do whatever needs to be done according to my whims and or ambition.  I am long on whims and short on ambition!

Of course, I wasted time watching the birds come and go from the bird bath.  Since I cleaned it out well, it has become a social center for various species of flying acrobats.  I do believe one fat Robin is training for the Aviary Olympics.  At lest that feathered athlete was willing to share with the smaller contenders of water sports.  What was funny to see was that chubby Robin sit right on the water spout and cut it off and then get off the spout and catch water to drink as if he were at the public fountain.  It doesn't take much to make me happy and give me simple pleasure, does it!!

WATCH THEN,
PRAYING AT ALL TIMES,
THAT YOU MAY BE
ACCOUNTED WORTHY
TO ESCAPE
ALL THESE THINGS
THAT ARE TO BE
AND TO STAND
BEFORE THE SON OF MAN.

Luke 34: 36

Yes, I have lifted a verse out of context again, so it would be best to go and read the whole of Chapter 34.  I like it because it speaks of of all the people coming out to hear Christ teach in the temple, in the early morning, in verse 38.  It seems to say to me that all the people come out in the newness of the day, when everything is fresh and the earth and hearts of mankind are most receptive.  How these verses touch you...are as individual as the dew drops or the slivers of gold  emitting from the raising sun in the morning.  There is an undeniable joy in each new day as the darkness fades and the advancing light.. dresses all of God's creation.
