It got a little cool around the edges so I broke my rule. I turned the heat on for a little bit this morning, just to take the chill out of the house. I let the furnace run for about an hour before turning it back to the pilot light.

Nota

Nota thing going on or to wright about. I was out a short time this afternoon, but not for long. I want to go shopping, but don't want to fight the crowds or traffic. What I want is Nestles Coffee Creamer because I am almost out of it. I really don't want/need much more.
I still do not have the router for AT&T Internet. They took it to the wrong house, which is empty, next door. I won't get it before Monday.
It did get down into the low, low 30's last night and will again tonight. I still haven't turned the heat on. I did turn on the electric heater in the bathroom for a little bit. After tonight it is supposed to warm up a little bit.
I am holding out for as long as I can with heat.

Hole in my head

Ok, I have a hole in my head-tooth. It feels like the Grand Canyon, but it isn't. S0..I need another crown-darn. Well, I guess I will make the dentist a little richer and me a little poorer.

My slipped disk is a little better this evening. I had taken a pain pill this morning and it snowed me under this afternoon. I fell asleep several times on the couch while I was trying to watch the news. I must be a late reactor to medicine.

The air is going to be a little cool overnight, dropping down into the 30's. The dog next door still does not have a proper shelter. They came up with a travel cage, but that does not protect it from the rain, wind or cold. It gets into their garbage and tears it up and trash is all over their yard. Stupid people don't know enough to put the trash where the dog can't get it. I'm sure it is looking for food. I don't know if DOG is hungry or just doing what dogs do, and that is tearing up trash.

I spent a little time sealing around the air conditioner. Isn't Duct tape great? I need to do a better job and put plastic over it, as well. That is a job for tomorrow. I want to go shopping, but I don't want to do a lot of walking around yet...not yet.

Home Made Dumplings

*

1 stick of butter

2 cups boiling water

1 Tsp. vinegar

5 cups flour

Bring water and butter to a boil

Add vinegar. Pour in flour

Blend thoroughly

Divide in parts

Roll out very thine

Cut into desired size dumplings

Drop a few at a time into

boiling chicken stock

Cover and cook about 2o minutes

Can be cut and stored in plastic

freezer bags to be used for

later use-or use now.

I like drop dumpling as well, but they never last long enough to make it to the freezer. I also use biscuit mixes for dumplings.

Shell Games

Mine hurts.

Tomorrow I go to the dentist to repair the tooth that lost the filling. Not too happy about that as I can hardly navigate at the present. I guess I will have to take pain medicine before I go and probably when I get home.

Not very happy with AT&T either. I have to set up my own Gateway router and DVR which will require me to bend and lift. What happened to customer service? The components are supposed to come by FedEx. That makes me FedUp. I am only switching over because Insight raised the price of Internet, actually they more than doubled it.Next year AT&t will probably do the same. It is all a shell game.

Weather or not

Today the news was all about weather. We got rain. We had nearly an inch of rain. The weatherman said it wasn't a "drought buster," but it helped. There has been very little rain in this area since July. Long time, no see- rain.

Not much else going on. I am still trying to stay off my feet and let the slipped disk slip back to where it belongs. I took a 1/2 pain pill and that made me pretty sleepy. If I had taken a whole one I would probably be sleeping under the table. That wouldn't be good!

Because I have not been out and about with my little camera I downloaded a nice picture from the Internet and hope you enjoy it.

Slippery

I slipped a disk

Well, I have done it before and I will do it again, I am sure. Time heals all slippery disks. As I can't carry things well anymore I have been pulling, tugging, and dragging heavy stuff around. So, I haven't done much today other than reading, washing dishes and a few odd cleaning jobs in kitchen.

I lost a large filling from an upper back tooth. It doesn't hurt, but I do have

an appointment to get it fixed on Thursday. Just as I thought I saw light at the end of the tunnel... the light goes out and it is back in debt I go. Such is life.

I waited all day for the AT&T guy to come (by appointment) and he never showed or called. Maybe that is a good thing since my mobility is not up to par.

It has rained and is supposed to rain even more tomorrow. It is a much needed infusion into Mother Nature's arm. Oh, how we need it. Stick it to us, Momma Doc. It will heal our crusty, dusty souls. Yes, Mother Nature, can give us palliative care and it is overdue.

The full moon rises. When the moon is full and it is also a pay-day week-end, the demented and almost demented will come out to play and unloose meanness on the unsuspecting or the mirror souls of their own ids. People get downright nasty when the pull of that orbiting chunk of rock and dust disrupts their equilibrium. The human body has a lot of liquid sloshing about in a container of skin, bone and flesh, so it stands to reason that the gravitational pull of that big, old lunar rock in the sky would have an effect on we...wee ones of the earth.

I have been very tired this day. I have not done much, but my eyes are heavy. I got my eight hours of sleep and I didn't read much last evening or today. I guess I have to chalk my sleepiness up to the moon change, too.
