CROSS IN MY POCKET

A CROSS IN MY POCKET

I carry a cross in my pocket
A simple reminder to me
Of the fact that I am a Christian
No matter where I may be.

This little cross is not magic
Nor is it a good luck charm
It isn't meant to protect me
From every physical harm.

It's not for identification
For all the world to see
The cross is there to remind me
It is simply an understanding
Between my Savior and me.

When I put my hand in my pocket
To bring out a coin or key
The cross is there to remind me
Of the price He paid for me.

It reminds me, too, to be thankful
For my blessings day by
And strive to serve Him better
In all that I do and say.

It is also a daily reminder
Of the peace and comfort I share
With all who know my Master
And give themselves to his care.

So, I carry a cross in my pocket
Reminding no one but me
That Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life
If only I let Him be.

I usually do not have a cross in my own pocket, but I have one on my car key chain.  Do you have a cross in your pocket or key chain?

"A good heart makes a good face.  True beauty of the soul will come out in sweetness, brightness, the quite glory of the face."

Another day has slipped away with the sunset and has taken this dreary, rainy day along with it and into the darkness.  See you later, rainy fall day...because I know you will revisit for a short time.  The rain has brought down a tun of leaves so the next time I need to clean up the yard...may be to last time for this season.  We shall see how well Mother Nature has wrapped herself  in her golden foliage of falling splendor.   Remember jumping into big piles of dry leaves when you were a kid...and spreading the leaves all over again?  I do.
