THE OLD IS NEW AGAIN

A lot of the old devotions are being revived among the faithful.  You know that old saying, "What goes around come around." Also, "There is nothing new under the sun."  And so much of the devotions that fell by the wayside when the Vatican Documents were published are finding a new, spiritual growth among the young and older faithful.  The church never meant for these devotionals to be abandoned; to be relegated to the back burners or change within the religious practices of Christians.  The spiritual prayers  are still spirital prayers of the church.  And now the "Old is new again."

Today I was asked if I had the Memorare prayer in Latin.  I do.  I was asked if I could type it up and give it to someone.  I can and will.  It is in my little prayer book in both Latin and English.  I also have my little white missal that my mother gave me many years ago.  It is very special to me and I have kept it all these years even though Latin has not been used much since the 1960's.  Some things you never part with for they are like "treasures in the attic" and the great, intrinsic value is rediscovered.

So, what have I done this day besides nothing.  Oh, I washed dishes, washed cloths, went groceries shopping and also bought some goodies for any little "pagan" that might come knocking on my door.  "Trick or Treat-Smell my feet!"  That's what my brother used to say!  I am reminded that the Pomes boy ran out in front of a car on Halloween and suffered a severe head injury.

PRAYER FOR BELIEVERS

I DO NOT PRAY FOR THEM ALONE.
I PRAY FOR THOSE WHO WILL BELIEVE IN ME
THROUGH MY WORD.
THAT ALL MAY BE ONE
AS YOU, FATHER, ARE IN ME AND I IN YOU;
I PRAY THAT THEY MAY BE (ONE) IN US,
THAT THE WORLD MAY BELIEVE
THAT YOU SENT ME.

John 17:20-21

This is only a small portion of the Prayer for Believers.  You can go to your Bible and read it a lot faster than I can type it out.  It is worth your time to do so; it won't take you long,
