THE GIDDY LAMB...IZ ZAT U?

A GIDDY LAMB ONE AFTERNOON
HAD FROM THE FOLD DEPARTED;
THE TENDER SHEPHERD MISSED IT SOON,
AND SOUGHT IT BROKEN-HEARTED;
NOT ALL THE FLOCK THAT SHARED HIS LOVE
COULD FROM THE SEARCH DELAY HIM,
NOR CLOUDS OF MIDNIGHT DARKNESS MOVE,
NOR FEAR OF SUFFERING STAY HIM.
,

BUT NIGHT AND DAY HE WENT HIS WAY,
IN SORROW TILL HE FOUND IT,
AND WHEN HE SAW IT FAINTING LIE,
 HE WRAPPED HIS ARMS AROUND IT;
AND, CLOSELY SHELTERED TO HIS BREAST,
FROM EVERY ILL TO SAVE IT,
HE BROUGHT IT TO HIS HOME OF REST,
AND PITIED AND FORGAVE IT.

AND SO THE SAVIOR WILL RECEIVE
THE LITTLE ONES THAT FEAR HIM;
THEIR PAIN REMOVED THEIR SIN FORGIVE,
AND DRAW THEM GENTLY TO HIM:
BLESS WHILE THEY LIVE AND WHEN THEY DIE
AND SOUL AND BODY SEVER,
CONDUCT TO HIS HOME ON HIGH,
TO DWELL WITH HIM FOREVER.

from Faloon's collection of  Hymns.

This hymn was written in"old English," but isn't all that hard to read or understand.  So I ask you, are you feeling giddy?

Giddiness is something of a light-headiness or a feeling of faintness or even a measure of silly foolishness.  We all get "giddy" sometimes.  I would rather think of giddiness in terms of lightness of spirit and joy in the Lord.  I wish we could feel that way all the time for all the right reasons and "pass it on."  It is the Joy of the Lord that leads others to the church and to salvation.  How can we and the Lord not love a happy Christian?  True joy comes from true Love.  So...if you feel a little silly and spiritually elevated in Christ our Lord...well, pass it on.  Laughter is known as the best medicine for all ills and can make you well "down here and up there."  We know that no one can be joyful all the time, but give it try...it becomes infectious.

You already know about the parable Of the Lost Sheep.  You can find it in Matt. 18: 12-40 and in Luke 15: 15-17.  and John 10: 2-4.  Oh No!  You want me to read it to you, too!!  Sorry, my voice won't reach that far!

"The attire of the body, and the laughter of the teeth, and the gait of a man, show what he is.   Eccl. XIX 27.

 Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice.  Let your modesty be known to all men.  Phil. IV. 4: 5

I must have missed something:  It seems like this week has gone by very fast.  Tomorrow-Sunday-is my "day off" again.  If you can't make it to church...say a little prayer...God hears the least of us and knows our hearts.

Greetings Mabel,

Isn't the Lord so wonderful that he would not want even one soul to perish but have everlasting life with him? Praise the Lord!! Yes, I feel giddy in the Lord!! I am so grateful he found me and saved me!!!

The week has flown by fast and we are already into a new week. Where does the time go? Today I am cleaning carpets and going to the neighbor's to clean the dining room. Some where in there a trip to the grocery store is also necessary. These are busy times indeed. :-)

Blessings, Alice
