BREAD AND WINE

How did October get here so fast?  I think that fall just "fell in."

WHO ARE THEY WHOSE LITTLE FEET,
PACING LIFE'S ROUGH JOURNEY THROUGH,
NOW HAVE REACHED THAT HEAVENLY SEAT
THEY  HAVE EVER KEPT IN VIEW?

'I'M FROM GREENLAND'S ICY LANDS,'
'I'M FROM INDIA'S SULTRY PIAIN,'
'I'M FROM AFRICA'S TROUBLED SPAN,'
'I'M FROM ISLANDS OF THE MAIN:

ALL OUR EARTHLY JOURNEYS PAST,
EVERY TEAR AND PAIN GONE BY,
HERE WE TOGETHER MEET AT LAST,
IN THE HEAVEN OF THE SKY.

 EACH THE WELCOME, "COME," AWAITS,
CONQUERORS OVER DEATH AND SIN:\
Ll FT YOUR HEADS, YOU GOLDEN GATES,
LET THE LITTLE ONES TRAVEL IN.

by James Edmeston.

The above poem was written over 150 years ago and the English is a little stilted.  I tried to edit it where possible.  I lost the title.

The mail carrier must have gotten a little wet today because my mail was wet, too.  Yes, it rained even though it was supposed to be a nice few days.  Well, we can still use the rain here and my mail was just junk mail anyway, so I didn't mind.

There were a few things that I wanted to get done outside, but I didn't want to get wet so I just stayed in.  Not an exciting day.

THE CUP OF BLESSINGS
THAT WE BLESS,
IS IT NOT THE SHARIING
OF THE BLOOD OF
CHRIST?
AND THE BREAD
THAT WE BREAK,
IS IT NOT
THE PARTAKING
OF THE BODY
OF THE LORD?

1 Corinthians 11: 16-17

The above passage really does not need a comment from me.  You may wish to read all of ch. 11 for the full benefit and understanding of Paul's message.
