GIRD ON YOUR SWORD

I would like to say that this has been a very productive day, but I have been lazy.  The best that I have done is to have washed cloths and to sort some out for mending.

I attended mass at mid-day, but came right home.  I spent so much money for the dentist and the eye Dr. and also for gas, that I decided that going out to eat after mass would not be the best act of my day.  I came home and cooked and ate "in."  At least it is cooler now and cooking is not a penance.  Well, maybe it is, if you had to eat my cooking.

I brought in a load of canned goods that have been rattling around in the back of the van.  I used my little rolling cart for the task.  I had a good load and my cart broke/split.  I hope I can fix it as it has served me well.  It has served its purpose well and saved a lot of wear and tear on my arm.  I really need it as I have another bunch of cans to bring in.  Silver duct tape may save it.

This morning as I was sitting at the table drinking my coffee and watching the birds frolic in the birdbath, I noticed the  neighbor across the alley standing by his truck and staring at my house...or so I thought.  He just stood there leaning on his truck...in his shorts...with his big tummy bulging out.  If he realized how he looked in profile I think he would have ran in the house and hid away.  Definitely, he needs to diet and find something to do.He can't see in, but I can see out so I guess he was thinking that I need to mow the grass!

I am half listening to the Presidential Debate.  I think we are a nation in decline and there is nothing either one can do about it.  Too many dishonest, corrupt people in high places.
I also saw in the news that France will fund all abortions.  What will be next?  State funded euthanasia?  So goes the Socialist Governments and I guess America will not be far behind.  Really, really pray for this country that is failing in so many aspects of the freedoms that we "think" enjoy.

Speaking of France again, this is a country that birthed so many great saints in the past and built such beautiful cathedrals that inspired so many, that I can't hardly believe the path that nations is  taken.  I guess that persistent wars can bring a nation to its knees moraly and physicaly.  I feel that we are absorbing some of the values of that country.  I know that there are many good people here and abroad.  We need a few modern saints that will carry the torch and bear the sword of justice and right, shield the innocent and protect the poor.  Any new and modern saints out there??  Bring forth your resume' and apply now

SHOW ME O LORD
YOUR WAY,
AND LEAD ME
ON A LEVEL PATH
BECAUSE OF
MY ADVERSARIES.
GIVE ME NOT
UP TO
THE WISHES
OF MY FOES;
FOR FALSE
WITNESSES
HAVE RISEN UP
AGAINST ME.

Psalm 26: 11-12
***

Well, isn't that the truth.  We all have enemies or adversaries; those that would speak falsely or maliciously and aim their barbs in our direction.  Yes, I know this firsthand and it isn't pleasant.  We need to rise above it even though it not easy.  Such situations may never be resolved in this lifetime and our only recourse is prayer.  If you know of someone that has such misunderstandings and pain tagged on to them, be sure to pray for them.  If it is you... ..then I will pray for you.
