Chicks and Gardens

The little chickens are growing in leaps and bounds. Some are feathering out already.
They seem to be healthy and curious, making a mess of thier environment. Can't keep up with their appetites. Even the smallest one that I thought might not make it, is thriving.

A little of the garden is in. Chuck, the handyman, planted cabbage, red and white onions, today. The soil is still wet and other seeds and plants will have to wait. It looks like the weather will be turbulent and fickle for the next week.

Chuck made a nifty feeder out of scrap wood and built a gate out of old pallet wood. The gate looks better than the other gate. I hope the meter reader will have enough sense to close the gate when he comes around.

Now..what to do about the stray cats that roam the neighborhood.

Crime is increasing here and the local pawn shop and the audio store got hit last night. As people look for food or drugs the crime rate will soar. Guess I better get locks for the gates 'cause I don't want some one to get into the yard on a dark and windy night and get my little chicks or garden produce.

Tomorrow is Sunday. A day of rest and no blog will be forthcoming. LOL! No one reads it anyway!!
