Look at the prices on these old gravity gas pumps!
We will never see such low prices again!

The  price of gasoline is already up even 'though Wall St. is closed and the speculators can't speculate.  From what I can understand of the news the riots in Egypt would effect Europe more than us-we, of the Western hemisphere.  Never let a good riot-havoc-go to  waste.  They(bankers, speculators, and Wall Street Tycoons) will rush to cash in where we peons fear to tread.  The Robber Barons will be at work and play, and thus, history repeats itself. As written "The poor will always be with us," and to clarify the words of Christ in a more modern vernacular, we will always have the  "good, the bad and the very self-serving UGS(uglies).  So, what can we do about it?  Very little other than stock-up, store up your treasures in Heaven and try to survive.

I did drive out a little and checked the price of gas:  some prices were up 10 cents per gallon from yesterday evening.  It is hard to say what it will be tomorrow or on Monday when Wall Street and the banks open.  "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst."  I suppose I sound like a paranoid scare monger, but it worries me.

The two men that said they wanted to buy my old Rambler never showed up today.  That doesn't surprise me.  Everyone wants the car, but no one wants to pay for it.  The car will soon be 52 years old and is a rare model.  Maybe I will put it up on E Bay.

I walked in the garden and got mud on my shoes.  The moles are tearing up the garden spot; they are really bad and I need to get rid of them.  I did pull an over-wintering green onion that I missed last fall and spotted several more.  Onion breath!!

Greetings Mabel!!

Our gas prices are averaging $3.13 per gallon for the lowest octane. I need to go fuel up both vehicles today. We are under a "Dangerous Winter Storm Advisory" for Tuesday and Wednesday with ice and snow heading out way. Actually it will start Monday with freezing rain and ice.

Not real thrilled about this as I am suppose to get Frank to the VA in Danville, IL about an hour and a half from here Tuesday morning. Needless to say I am praying for the storm to hold off until we are back. Getting these appointments with specialists at the VA is difficult enough. You really hate to have to postpone.

From what they are calling for we can expect to lose power. I have checked my candle supply. The propane tank on the grill is full. Plenty to eat in the house, with or without much cooking ability and the big cooler will go out on the porch tomorrow to keep food in from the fridge if need be.

Guess I am as prepared as I can be. Still praying it holds off or better yet, does not come at all.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!
