CROCK POT BAKED BEANS

CROCK POT BAKED BEANS

3 cans vegetarian beans, drained

1 medium onion, chopped

2/3 cup barbecue sauce

1/cup brown sugar

2 Tbs. of ground mustard

stir all ingredients together

place in Crock Pot

cook in low for 4 to 5 hours

or

cook on high for 2 -2/1 hours.

I prefer some meat in my baked beans so you can add several slices of cooked bacon, ham or chunky stew meat to my baked beans. You may prefer to fry our onion before adding to the crock pot.

I am including a recipe that i have posted a long time before, should anyone new happen by. Both dishes will help feed on the "cheap" during these days of budget watching.

**

CORN CASSEROLE

1 stick of butter or margarine

1 can of corn, drained

1 can of creamed corn

1 box Jiffy Muffin mix

1 container sour cream

mix well

add any meat of your choice

chopped hot dogs

cooked slice bacon

any left over meat

or no meat at all

grease a bread pan

or smething simalar

and add mixture

bake 1 hour at 350 degrees

With either recipe you can improvise or change it according to your taste. You need three things: protein, carbohydrates and some fats.
